My anchor is permaculture gardening and building soil around my urban home. Staying in touch with sustainable transport advocates. Knowing climate club exists to keep us all in touch. I believe in action at a community level.

How much do we imbibe bad news…fight for…fight against…protest….strive to…make happen…?

And need an anchor for?

Life is…without all..your sound & fury that signifieth nothing

Create an alternative

Get your hands in the earth

Grow

Make

Be

Ponder

Deeply appreciate and love

I've recently awoken to the reality of climate change on a much deeper level. As part of this process I am experiencing so much grief. This meant as well as learning more about the science, policy etc I quickly realised that I needed to learn about how people are caring for themseves so that they can continue to hold this reality and not look away.

While this experience is so painful, it has given me the surprising and beautiful gift of creating a profound connection and respect for our environment, community, and Indigenous knowledge which has known this all along.

My anchor at this stage is trying to find communities within my existing ones, as well as new ones, who are able to, and want to kōrero and learn together about our climate change reality and what we can do to mitigate, as well build resilience, in a holistic and sustainable way.

Thank you to all who share your anchors. It is such a crucial thing to learn - how we can sustain ourselves, our communities, as well as our environment. 💜
