That said, I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the harsh reality of our current situation.
The only single way we can mitigate the real world a fact of the oncoming catastrophe is a twofold solution. They are absolutes. Unequivocal prerequisites.
STOP extraction and use of fossil fuels.
Direct sequestration of carbon from the atmosphere. At least 3 trillion tons. The economic incentive is already there. At least one doesn't companies are you doing that very thing for between 600 and $1200 per time. With quality carbon fiber retailing at $32,000 per ton, it could very well be the greatest opportunity in the history of legal tender.
Hi Hudson, alongside extraction we have to, As Individuals, stop using oil and all it's foul companion industries. Every cent we give to Billionaires simply encourages more chemicals in our diet.... Mea Culpa, Maurice
Thanks again, climate club. The small group of activists to which I belong have more or less given up on both optimism and pessimism - we just do what we can because it seems the right thing to do. It's a moral imperative. And there's always the possibility that someday soon public sentiment might, perhaps, tip in favour of moderating consumption and doing the right thing by our kids.
Right on!! Stoicism and a deep, deep appreciation for the absurd, the mindset that suits me the best. Action, the true salve for the soul. Thank you for your hard work!
Hi Graham, we keep hearing about Tipping Points of Doom.... That you use the term here in a positive sense is AbsoBrilliant ! Let's have more of it !! I shall quote you soon in https://thiscreativeadventure.com
Hallo Jodie, good to read that the team is expanding !! As is awareness that it's people power that drives action / solutions. Hi Jodie :) Climate emotion sounds like such an interesting topic for a PhD. Knowing there are people like you out here (especially there's at least one of you that I've actually met, makes me feel like there's even more of you) doing these studies is so uplifting. I can optimistically believe that there's a significant number of young folks working hard to keep our future a safe possibility!
Ngā mihi Maddi! It can be a bit isolating in academia, it's hard to see a tangible impact of what you're doing, especially in the early stages, so this comment really meant a lot! :))
I love the inspirational message!!!
