This coming Saturday, Kate Booth, Program Lead, Critical Collapse Studies, from University of Tasmania, is hosting a webinar about "This is Collapse - what do we do now?" The discussion of global collapse will focus on a call for inclusive, diverse and equitable local preparedness and action.
Electricity should be one of the universal basic services provided by government through taxes- provided to consumers at cost. When did we agree to allow profit to enter the equation?
While good news is always nice it's worth noting that overall coal use for 2024 was higher than 2023 and various other years. We aren't yet really reducing the amount of coal we are using sadly. I think it would be good if there was some balancing context for little stories like this so people don't complacently think it's all just happening nicely and we don't need to think about it.
Congratulations on the Charities registration!! If you can, you should definitely send out donation receipts automatically (or even once every couple of months) for all donations - as an ex-treasurer, people who get the receipts without asking will often donate multiple times :)
Would you please consider removing Twitter (aka x) as a communications link for Climate Club? Seems entirely inappropriate to use this channel given its ownership (
