The assertion we can decouple energy from burning things ...due to rebuildable electricity generation tech like wind and sun...is grossly overstated and will take decades if ever to achieve.

Agreed we can't decouple the two Meg, and I agree the footprint from renewables is still high! Will suggest a rewording of that section. For me the message I took from this was that we are now able to rethink the concept of infrastructure so it's no longer industrial production -> consumer - and that people can be their own producers and consumers of energy, and we can have decentralised infrastructure - which is still exciting for our society.
